Provincial Nutrition Officers (PNOs), Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Family Health Action Groups (FHAGs) are among the front-line health service providers who strive to save lives via promoting acceptable Hygiene, Sanitation and nutrition behaviors among people. Being the front-line service providers, they need to be trained and equipped with the latest effective skills and techniques so that they can utilize them to institutionalize the health seeking practices among communities and households which in turn will decrease morbidity and mortality rate in the country.
To attend the training sessions or courses, those front-line health service providers working in remote areas of the country may need to travel long distance or face obstacles such limited budgets, insufficient human resources, unsafe road conditions and most importantly insecurity can restrict the capacity-building opportunities for them. To overcome the given obstacles USAID/IHSAN with close coordination with Public Nutrition Directorate (PND) developed and testing e-learning platform that will provide online courses and training opportunities for the relevant staff of Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD), Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL).
Courses in this platform are designed to cover every step, process and issue that need to be understood by the front-line health service providers to provide high quality health related counseling, mentoring and behavior change communication among communities and households.
